The Stud Ball is a protected magnetic stud finder that will out perform and other type of magnetic stud finder on the market. Unlike other steel stud finders, the Stud Ball can detect metal through 1/2" or 5/8" drywall or other thicker building materials. Will also work through ceramic tiling and up to 3/4" plywood paneling.

I bought this to help find Fire Break horizontal 2 X 4's within stud walls. So far I am still not sure it has helped. I know that electronic stud finders can give a false detection at times. I was looking for something that would give a more reliable method of detection. I will continue to use the stud ball in an attempt to detect nails in fire breaks.

I purchased this for some of our crew on a construction site. I was surprised at how strong these things were even while still packaged up. This is the only type of magnetic stud finder our crew likes to use. They swear by this item. When they need more, I'll be buying them more.
