What's so special about EZ-RJ45: The patented EZ-RJ45 Connector simplifies twisted pair terminations by allowing the wires to be inserted through the connector and out the front. This allows the technician to easily verify the proper wiring order. Electrical performance of the termination is optimized by pulling the connector down over the cable jacket and seating it tightly in the rear of the connector. Reducing the distance between the wire twists and contacts improves performance! Reduces scrap, no wasted crimps. More reliable, higher performance. EXO EZ-RJ45 Crimping Tool:We are huge fans of manufacturers that are forward thinking with their product development; the EXO Crimp Frame is a great example of that. As technology advances, wire and connectors are going to continue to evolve. Platinum Tools EXO Crimp Frame is engineered to allow users to swap out dies as needed and avoid having to purchase an entirely new tool. The EXO Crimp Frame has dies available for EZ-RJ45 (not included) as well as the newer exEZ-RJ45 connectors (included).

This EXO Crimp Frame comes equipped with Platinum Tools EXO-EX die which is designed specifically for the exEZ-RJ45 connector. If you are not familiar with the ezEX-RJ45 connectors, they were engineered specifically for terminating larger diameter twisted-pair cables with conductor sizes up to .048in. The exEZ-RJ45 allows for the larger wire by cleverly staggering each conductor. As with all EZ connectors, the wiring can be quickly verified by the wires protruding prior to crimping. It is important to note the exEZ-RJ45 connectors can only be crimped with this EXO crimper and EXO-EX Die.

One really cool feature that stuck out to our team is the "click" you hear once the connector is in the crimper. That "click" means it's the right connector for the die and it's ready to crimp. Another great addition is the push button lock mechanism that makes the tool easy to put back into your tool bag. When it's in it's locked position, the Die is firmly secured in the frame and will not let loose and fall out.

The EXO-EX Die (part number: PLA-100071C) included with this Crimper is not backward compatible with current EZ-RJ45 connectors. This Die must only be used with ezEX44 and ezEX48 connectors.
